A WARM WELCOME TO
LITTLE LEARNERS
In these early years, every question matters, every laugh counts, and every small step builds confidence. This is where the love of learning begins — gently, joyfully, and on each child's own terms.

Our classrooms are spaces where children feel safe, seen, and free to explore.
Dependable routines

Every morning begins in the garden. Then circle time, learning stations, snack, and outdoor play. Children who know what to expect are calmer, more focused, and ready to learn.

The SNAP curriculum

An emergent, hands-on blend of Stories, Nature, Art & Play that honors each child’s curiosity and allows learning to be joyful and meaningful

EYFS

Rooted in the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our programme builds a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and personal, social, and emotional development.

The elements of early
years learning at VLC

1. Learning Through Play & Purpose

At VLC, play is not what happens when learning is over. It is learning — purposeful, multisensory, and full-body. One concept, five modalities. That is the VLC way.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia, our classrooms are the "third teacher." Natural light, warm colours, tactile materials, and children's own work on the walls. Nothing decorative for its own sake. Every element is designed to invite curiosity and reduce overwhelm.

2. Emotional & Social Well-Being

Social-emotional development is woven into everything — how classrooms are structured, how conflict is handled, how teachers speak to children. We build self-regulation, independence, and emotional balance through daily rituals, not separate lessons.

3. Hands-On, Inquiry-Based Learning

Children make pizza and discover fractions. They garden and learn science. They paint what they've read and act out what they've imagined. Hands, voice, body, imagination — every lesson is a full-body experience.

5. Early literacy through storytelling

Stories are the oldest and most powerful learning technology humans have. At VLC, storytelling is woven into the daily rhythm — through singing, read-alouds, and storytelling circles. Children expand vocabulary, build empathy, and step into worlds that grow their imagination and their hearts. We are not teaching children to memorise. We are nurturing minds that wonder freely, feel deeply, and lead with kindness.

•A curious explorer learning through play, nature, and making

•A whole child — seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are

•A conscious leader in the making, grounded in compassion and courage
